adaptive learning center
An adaptive learning center that provides playful experiences and strategic approaches for parents to build motivation and teach skills to their autistic child in a structured environment.
1 in 69 U.S. Children are Diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
About ASD
LANGUAGE IMPAIRMENTS
ASD children have difficulty developing language skills and understanding what others say to them. Some may not be able to communicate using speech or have very limited speaking skills.
SOCIAL IMPAIRMENTS
They give no or minimal eye contact during an interaction. Often have repetitive behavior. Narrow interests and exceptional abilities.
AFFECTS ON FAMILY
Child’s autism diagnosis affects every member of the family in different ways. Caregivers must now place their primary focus on helping them, which may put stress on their personal relationships and responsibilities.

The warm palette from the oak wood and greenery invites the family inside. While the building uses natural light, majority of the space remains hidden and private so the ASD child is not distracted from the surroundings.

Logo Identity
The logo is simple yet playful in details. I eliminated the serif in each character and only kept it in the end of the stroke to juxtapose the professional side of the adaptive learning center and the playful element to target the children. The twist at the end stroke in both 'm' and 'w' reflects the transition from a state of 'me' to a community of 'we'.
The Strategy
Identity palettes are used throughout the space to color code each program, also to aid with spatial guidance. The color strategy is to pick muted colors because any saturated colors would add burden to the ASD children visually.
